This page forms part of a PhD research project conducted at The University of Edinburgh on sustainable web design. The approach is to foster an innovative and conscientious digital future through a blend of inquiry and action. By raising awareness, developing technologies and sharing crucial insights, it looks to highlight the pressing need to reduce excess and catalyse tangible change. Inspired by Vivienne Westwood's belief that innovation lies in reimagining existing norms—"I'm not trying to do something different, I'm trying to do the same thing in a different way"—we strive to establish sustainable web practices as the industry standard. Ultimately, this doctoral research seeks to deeply integrate sustainable practices into our studio's culture and projects.
